Captain America: Civil War Review

Hello, May 1st!

I can't believe it, time sure flies when you're having fun! It's already the first of May and you know what that means? It is time to watch Captain America: Civil War! Woohoo!

Whose side are you on?
Z: "Captain America!"
Me: "Iron Man!"

Even though it is a Sunday today and Labor Day to boot, I still have to work because as a News Editor for a finance and business app, the news never sleep. So yeah, before I was able to book our ticket, this is my view for the meantime.

Yes, it is hard to work at home especially during weekends but like what I've said so many times before, as I get to spend my days at home and can see Z grow up without the help of a Yaya, it makes me proud to be a mother. A few sacrifices have to be made but heck, I'm okay with that.

Anyway, back to the movie. So I was able to book the 8:30PM film showing at SM San Mateo.

Unfortunately, we got stuck in traffic and ended up getting at the movies 10 minutes late. Good thing the lady in the cashier was friendly and switched us to the 9PM showing, giving us plenty of time to buy popcorn and drinks (Gong Cha milk tea for me).

Movie Review

The movie was awesome and I was on the edge of my seat the whole time! Of course, Robert Downey Jr. did a marvelous job portraying Iron Man (to be honest, he was the only reason why I was really excited to see the film). I was still in awe with the airport scene and not to mention, the twist at the end.

I was a little worried about the new Spiderman but he did the role justice so two thumbs up for Tom Holland. And can I just say, the RDJ-Marisa Tomei scene gave me total nostalgia! I was a fan of their love team in "Only You" so that's an additional "kilig" factor for me.

While Civil War didn't pattern its story to the comics, the plot of this movie was believable enough so I'm okay with it. I just wish they brought in more Avengers to make the fight scenes even better.

Word of advice: watch it until the very end, until the credits are rolling.
