Sunday Thoughts

It's my second day of training at my new online job and while it is extremely difficult to adjust as I am often out with my family every weekend, we were able to make do with our time. Like today, instead of hearing mass at six in the evening, we heard mass at 8:30 in the morning. We like to hear mass in the evenings because it is quieter, making the celebration solemn.

To wake my Big Boy Z, I prepared a simple yet cute breakfast.

It's a cheese sandwich in the shape of a tractor truck with cheese and grapes. My little boy even told me, "Mommy, can I eat this? It's too beautiful!" Ah, to have my masterpiece loved and praised by my son, that's enough for me.

So, after eating breakfast and going to church, I had to go to the market and prepare our lunch early as I have my training at eleven in the morning. Thankfully, Daddy R wanted something easy to prepare --- tosilog (that's homemade tocino, sinangag, and fried itlog).

Suddenly, my brother-in-law called my husband and invited us to have lunch at their place. At first, I was hesitant but then I realized, heck, I'm not going to ruin our weekend because of work. So, with my heavy backpack in tow, we rode the Wigo with my other brother-in-law and we went on the road trip.

My son was very jubilant because he was able to play with my brother-in-law's extremely cute canine and their very fat feline. While they were busy chatting and playing the Xbox or whatever they can find, I set up my mini office at my niece's room and began my work.

In these hours that I am busy working and everyone was having fun downstairs, I can't help but wonder what my life would have been if I continued working in my previous corporate job. I would probably be downstairs playing with them but then I again, I would probably not be home in time for Christmas Eve or New Year's Eve as it's our deadliest month end.

Many things could have changed if I'm not working from home but one thing's for sure, I have no regrets shifting careers. From an underwriting executive to a supervising news editor, that's like mixing oil and water. It was indeed a big change but I'm glad I trusted the Lord and my gut as I am able to watch big boy Z grow up into the wonderful kid he is now.
