Vigan-Laoag-Pagudpud 2016 (Day Two & Three)

After a quick and hearty breakfast at the Kapuluan Vista Restaurant, where most of us ordered the Vigan longganisa again, we started the day with our DIY Pagudpud tour. We were a bit late so it was extremely hot when we drove to Cape Bojeador Lighthouse, Kapurpurawan Rock Formation, and Bangui Windmills.

In my itinerary, we were supposed to go to Bantay Abot Cave but due to an accident that we have never foreseen, we had to scrap it off our tour. Good thing our resort was in the Blue Lagoon area that's why we were able to swim and see the beautiful place.

Day Two

First stop, we tried our luck at the Bangui Tourist Center to see the windmills but as it turned out, it was not the place we were looking for. Instead, we just viewed the Rock Formation from the view deck as it was too hot to visit it on foot.

The Kapurpurawan Rock Formation
My all-time favorite Ilokano Empanada
Good thing there was an empanada stand there because without it, we would have starved to death... okay, not to that morbid extent but it was lunch time already hence our tummies were grumbling.

The Cape Bojeador Lighthouse was also nearby so we were able to hit two tourist spots at once. Bad news though, you have to ride a 20-peso tricycle ride before you can go to the top. It was worth it though because we saw informative details about the lighthouse that we wouldn't have seen if we didn't visit it.

After the Lighthouse and Rock Formation visit, we then went to see the real Bangui Windmills. Instantly, I fell in love with the scenery! It would have been romantic if we didn't get stuck in the soft and wet sand!

Our van got stuck because we thought we can reach our destination through that path. We were lucky that there were still a few Good Samaritans in Ilocos and they helped us get our vehicle unstuck. We will be forever grateful to those fishermen and those two little boys who sell windmills souvenirs.

After our treacherous journey, we went back to the Blue Lagoon and as we were very hungry, we scrap off the Bantay Abot Cave and headed straight to the first restaurant we can see.

It was a dampa style, palutuan restaurant. It took quite sometime before our meal was ready but it was worth the wait because everything was delicious. We ate hearty servings of buttered shrimps, fried chicken, chicken adobo, and pork sinigang.

We then went back to Kapuluan Vista Resort to take a bath and prepare for our beach swim. We were able to see the beach at around 5 in the afternoon hence there were still a few beachgoers in the area. We built sand castles, swam to our hearts' content, and played beach volleyball.

We then had our night cap back at the resort and decided to sleep to rest our tired bodies. Tomorrow is another big adventure!

Day Three

We woke up at around five in the morning because my siblings and I decided to trek to the two hills we've seen nearby. It was a long trek but the beauty of the sunrise and the wonderful scenery were all worth it.

Besides the wonderful scenery, we also saw interesting creatures from the shallow waters. It's interesting because it was my first time, and definitely Z's first time, to see these sea creatures wading in the sea.

A sea slug, a hermit crab, and a soft jelly starfish
We then headed back to the resort to have our complimentary breakfast then we swam for a bit before heading back to Manila.

TOTAL EXPENSES

PHP 20,200 (2N3D stay at Kapuluan Vista Resort) +
PHP 15,000 (van rent from San Mateo to Ilocos and back) +
PHP 6,000 (toll fee and gas) +
PHP 10,000 (food for 11 adults / 1 kid)____________________
PHP 51,200

The total cost was divided among seven amounting to PHP 7,315 per person. It was not bad because everyone enjoyed.

It was one of the most tiring but most beautiful vacation we've had with my family. It was also our fifth wedding celebration because we've made it into a yearly thing since our first anniversary back in 2012.

Thank you, Lord, for all the blessings!
